PROJECT INFO
As part of the Follow the Melrose Beat initiative, this brochure was developed as a forward-looking urban planning document for our fellow to present to supervisors and use as a foundation for future implementation. It communicates a cohesive vision for improving accessibility, visibility, and community engagement in Melrose, Bronx, a rapidly evolving neighborhood where fragmented pedestrian flows and underutilized spaces limit interaction.
The design translates on-site research and community insights into a clear visual system—combining mapping, signage concepts, and a place-based identity to guide movement, highlight local culture, and encourage participation. The result is a scalable framework that supports WHEDco’s mission to foster a more connected, vibrant, and inclusive public realm.
